Your donations are used to buy the goods at wholesale, and we also negotiate with suppliers so that baskets retailing for $80+ only cost our donors $50. We can’t do what we do without the love and support of our awesome sponsors.
MWC’s Project Ramadan is 100% volunteer-run, which means your dollars go far in helping feed the need.
Normally, we host several builds across the GTA (and Ottawa), where hundreds of volunteers come together for a few hours of packing food baskets for our beneficiaries. This year, due to COVID-19 - we've had a slight change in plans, but worry less - we'll ensure that the food baskets are delivered to those in need.
Each year, hundreds of volunteers come together to make baskets, make friends, and above all, make a difference. This year, we're doing things a little differently.
One-Month Supply of Food
Because of our generous sponsors and your donations, we generally manage to secure supplies for the baskets at a reasonable price, often lower than suggested retail prices.
Our average basket includes: chickpeas, dates, flour, honey, beans, oil, lentils, pasta, pasta sauce, rice, salt, sugar, tea, tuna.

Though our builds are cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our commitment to our beneficiaries holds strong. Please donate generously to our initiative as we continue to fight against food insecurity across Canada.
As MWC's beloved initiative, Project Ramadan has proudly raised nearly $2 million and successfully distributed more than 26,000 baskets through MWC's food bank network of more than 11,000 community members.
